About David

David has been a woodworker since the 1980’s, having built furniture and boxes as well as carvings. Wood turning is a more recent interest… looking to improve skills through interaction with experienced turners.
A retired advertising agency owner and creative director, David is also an artist, photographer and writer. He and wife Anne (married 50 years in 2025) lived in Grand Bend for over 40 years, moving to Kincardine in late 2022.
David is also a sailor, and currently teaches sailing and VHF radio operation for CanBoat (formerly Canadian Power and Sail Squadron). With Anne, he has cruised a 35 foot sailboat (based in Kincardine for ten years) throughout Lake Huron and parts of Lake Michigan. Many of David’s paintings originate from these travels. They now own a 32 foot tugboat, “Unsalted” based in Kincardine.
