Fluted Maple Bowl
This bowl is 14 1/2 in dia by 4 in high. It is made of hard maple. The rim is about 2 in wide, and is embellished with 36 arcs that are each 1/2 inch wide. The undercut grooves in the back of the rim work to create a lattice like effect. it is finished with wipe on polyurethane.
This collection of hollow forms were all turned during the early part of 2021. They are constructed from spalted maple (left), spalted chestnut, and Bartlett pear (second from right). The tallest is 12 Inches high and the shortest is 7. All are finished with Tung oil.
